Buoyed by a hard-fought 1-0 win over Logrones, Mallorca will be aiming to cement top position in the standings when they take on Cartagena on Matchday 28. Los Bermellones are enjoying a very successful season, but head coach Luis Garcia Plaza must warn his men against complacency. Since Mallorca have turned their Visit Mallorca Estadi into a real fortress, it is no wonder bookies see the league leaders as favourites to win Sunday’s clash.
In their last home game in La Liga 2 Mallorca defeated Almeria, which is yet another reason why we are tempted to put our money on the home team. Cartagena did well to beat Leganes at home thanks to Ruben Castro’s goal, but the Spanish veteran is unlikely to prove a handful for Mallorca defenders, who have been impressive in the 2020/21 season. It has to be noted that Cartagena failed to find the net in the previous three away games.
Highlighted Player (Aleksandar Trajkovski):
Aleksandar Trajkovski is a Macedonian international who played for Cementarnica 55 during his youth career. He made 11 league appearances for the club at senior level as well and in 2010 he moved to Croatian team Inter Zapresic.
The attacking midfielder failed to prove his worth in the 2010/2011 season and, as a result, he was sold to Zulte Waregem in the summer of 2011. He played an important role in the Belgian team from 2011 to 2015 as he scored 11 goals in 83 league appearances for the club. It has to be noted, though, that Trajkovski spend the 2013/2014 season on loan at Mechelen. In 2015 he was named Macedonian Footballer of the Year and the same year he signed a contract with Italian side Palermo.
Speaking of his international career, Aleksandar Trajkovski has 15 caps for Macedonia U21 and he made his debut for the senior team on 10 August, 2011 in a friendly against Azerbaijan.

Founded on July 25, 1995, Cartagena is a Spanish football club that plays in La Liga 2. Los Boquerones dropped to Segunda B in the 2011/12 season, but following an eight-year absence, they returned to the Spanish second tier.
Cartagena play home matches at Cartagonova, the venue which can hold 15,105 spectators. The stadium was built by CMMP Arquitectos in 1987, and opened the following year. Real Murcia are regarded as the club’s main rivals, with the two teams facing each other in the Derbi of the Region of Murcia. Toche is leading Cartagena’s all-time top goalscoring chart with 39 goals.
Los Boquerones are well known for their black shirts with white stripes. Red, on the other hand, is the dominant colour of the club’s away kit. It has to be noted that Cartagena have never competed in la liga. The club’s highest ranking in the Segunda Division came in the 2009/10 season when they finished the campaign in 5th position in the standings.
