Stadio Artemio Franchi will host Sunday’s Serie A game between Fiorentina and Verona, the two teams with totally different ambitions for the remainder of the season. The Viola aim to represent Italy in European competitions for yet another term, while the Mastini are eager to secure the top flight survival. All Tommaso Martinelli, Dodo, and Gaetano Castrovilli continue to miss out with injuries, while Christian Kouame is a major doubt.
Verona, on the other hand, have drawn each of their last three league matches, but seeing that Fiorentina do not suit them, we are tempted to place our bets on the home side. As for the away team, Ondrej Duda misses out through suspension, while fellow Pawel Dawidowicz has yet to overcome a thigh injury. In their last meeting in Florence Fiorentina defeated Verona 2-0 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself.

Christian Kouame is an Ivory Coast international who has been playing for Serie A side Genoa since 2018. Kouame started his youth career at Prato and after ending his loan spells with the likes of Sassuolo and Inter, he returned to Stadio Lungobisenzio.
The 185-cm-tall forward made his professional debut with Prato on September 6, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Pisa. Christian Kouame started the match, but he was replaced by Alberto Aladje after 66 minutes. The Genoa attacker, though, has yet to earn a call-up for the Ivory Coast national team. He has two caps for the Ivory Coast U23 team, but he is still eyeing his senior team debut.
His main position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The Genoa footballer was born in Abijan on December 6, 1997 and he has a contract with the Rossoblu until June 30, 2023.

Founded back in 1903, Hellas Verona are a professional football club that compete in the Italian Serie A. The “Mastini” are well known for their yellow and blue jerseys and they welcome their opponents at Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi. Hellas Verona share rivalry with Chievo Verona and the two local rivals face each other in the “Derby della Scala”.
The first derby of Verona was played on November 18, 2001, with Hellas Verona emerging triumphant (3-2). In 1985 the Mastini won their first and only Scudetto, with the team finishing the season in top position in the Serie A standings, four points clear of second-placed Torino. The likes of Preben Elkjaer, Giuseppe Calderisi, Hans-Peter Briegel, Pietro Fanna and Antonio Di Gennaro led Hellas Verona to the historical success.
However, the most famous footballer who played for Verona is Romania international Adrian Mutu, who scored 16 goals in 57 appearances in the league for the Stadio Marc’ Antonio Bentegodi outfit. Verona will compete in the Italian top flight in the 2017/2018 season as they finished the 2016/2017 Serie B campaign in second position in the table.
