Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
There will be fireworks when RKC Waalwijk and Willem II face each other in the relegation six-pointer at Mandemakers Stadion. RKC showed character in their last league match, with the team coming from behind to share the spoils with Heerenveen on the road. The Yellow-Blues are eager to put an end to their five-game winless run in the Eredivisie, and we are positive that they will fight tooth and nail in Sunday’s showdown.
The Tricolores, on the other hand, have been struggling at the back of late, with the team conceding 11 goals in total in the previous four league fixtures. However, both teams to score betting option should be considered as Willem II have been showing signs of improvement in front of goal of late. In their last meeting in the Dutch elite division Willem II recorded a 2-1 win over RKC Waalwijk.
Highlighted Player (Konstantinos Lamprou):
Konstantinos Lamprou is a Greek goalkeeper who plays for Eredivisie club RKC Waalwijk. Kostas is a product of the famous Ajax football academy, but he eventually decided to join Feyenoord football school. The 178-cm-tall shot-stopper continued playing for Feyenoord at senior level, making 14 league appearances for De Trots van Zuid.
During his spell with Feyenoord, Kostas Lamprou played for the likes of Excelsior and Willem II on loan as well. In 2017 he returned to Ajax, but made no more than three appearances in the Eredivisie with the Amsterdammers.
In the 2019/20 season he did not see any game action with Vitesse, and, as a result, he decided to join RKC Waalwijk at the end of the campaign. Born in Athens on September 18, 1991, Konstantinos Lamprou has 14 caps for the Greece U21 team. He has yet to make his debut with the senior team. His preferred foot is left and he wears the No. 31 shirt at RKC Waalwijk.
Highlighted Team (Willem II):
Based in Tilburg, Netherlands, Willem II is a professional football club that competes in the Eredivisie. The Tricolores were founded back in August 1896 under the name of Tilburgia, but the club’s first big success came in the 1915/16 season when they won the national championship.
Willem II repeated the success in the 1951/52 Eredivisie campaign, with the team winning their third domestic trophy three years later. When it comes to KNVB Cup, the Tricolores have won it on two occasions (1943/44, 1962/63). Willem II are well known for their white shirts with red and blue strips, while their away kit is mainly mint with dark navy accents.
The Tricolores play home matches at Koning Willem II Stadion, the venue with the capacity of 14,700 spectators. Willem II have fierce rivals in Nac Breda, as the cities of Breda and Tilburg are only 20 kilometers apart. Former Barcelona and Arsenal star Marc Overmars is one of the most notable footballers who played for the club.
