Our prediction for this Norway Eliteserien match:
Valerenga and Vikinga face each other at Intility Arena in the opening match of the Eliteserien round 12. The Pride of Oslo are eager to put an end to their three-game losing run and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against the Dark Blues. All Kiil Olsen, Strand-Kolbjornsen, and Borchgrevink are out of contention through injuries, while experienced defender Vegar Eggen Hedenstad is pushing for a recall to the starting XI.
Viking, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Sarpsborg and Brann. The Dark Blues were scoring goals for fun before the international break and seeing that Valerenga are desperate to get back on course, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. As for the away side, both Jost Urbancic and Gianni Stensness remain on the sidelines with injuries, while the opposition back-line should have Zlatko Tripic at bay.
Highlighted Team (Viking):
Founded back in 1899, Viking are both one of the oldest and the most successful Norwegian teams. The dark blues won their eight domestic trophy in 1991, but they have not been as successful in the 21st century.
Viking won the Norwegian Cup on five occasions (1953, 1959, 1979, 1989, 2001) and knocking Chelsea out of the UEFA Cup during the 2002/2003 season is considered the team’s best achievement in European competitions.
