A place in the Copa America semis will be at stake when Peru and Paraguay face each other at Estadio Olimpico Pedro Ludovico on Friday evening. Peru aim to build on a hard-fought 1-0 win over Venezuela, but they will have a big fish to fry in the quarter-final clash. Jefferson Farfan doesn’t represent Peru at the showpiece tournament, while defender Alexandro Callens is likely to miss the game through injury.
Paraguay, on the other hand, have been having their ups and downs at the Copa America finals, with the team beating both Bolivia and Chile, while losing to the likes of Argentina and Uruguay. Premier League ace Miguel Almiron suffered an injury in the last group game, and we predict that he is going to be sorely missed in Friday’s clash. Anyhow, a close encounter is on the cards in Goiania, and we believe that punters can find value in betting on draw.

Carlos Zambrano is a 26-year-old Peruvian footballer who represents Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt. The talented centre back is often credited to be one of the most promising defenders coming from his nation. Zambrano is well known for his strong tackling and excellent defensive organization capabilities.
Starting his youth career with Cantolao, he was quickly snapped up by Bundesliga team Schalke 04. He was a regular starter for their youth team and was soon made the captain. He was a cornerstone of their defence and was soon promoted to the first team of Schalke. In 2012, he signed on to play for Eintracht Frankfurt and has already represented them in more than 80 matches.
Zambrano made his senior debut with Peru in 2008. He was chosen to represent the team in 2011 Copa America only to see an injury clamp his participation. Zambrano has represented Peru in 43 games so far scoring four goals.

Los Guaranies are the part of CONMEBOL confederation vying for glory at the international scene since 1919 and their debut loss to Argentina 5-1. Paraguay are regular participants at the Copa America winning the tournament on two occasions thus far, most recently in 1979.
They came close to glory in recent editions of the tournament as they fell short in the final of 2011 to Uruguay, while they finished fourth in 2015. The most successful period of the Paraguay national team came under Argentine coach Gerardo Martino, who took Paraguay to the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup for the first time in history. Following the 2010 success, Paraguay failed to qualify for their fourth successive FIFA World Cup finals as they have also missed out on the third consecutive global championship held inside their own continent.
Toluca FC centre back Paulo da Silva is the most capped player of the Paraguay national team, while former Bayern Munich and Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz is the team’s top scorer with 32 goals to his name.
