Our prediction for this match:
Mozambique will look to make amends for a 2-1 loss to Mauritania when they take on Eswatini in yet another friendly international. The Mambas missed out on a spot at the 2022 World Cup finals, with the team collecting only four points from possible 18 in the qualifiers for the showpiece tournament.
Despite the unsuccessful WC qualifying campaign, Chiquinho Conde is still in charge of the Mozambique national team, and it seems as if his men will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. Eswatini did well to beat Somalia in the Africa Cup of Nations preliminary qualification final, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Chiquinho Conde’s troops. When the two teams met in a friendly twelve years ago Mozambique defeated Eswatini 2-1, and we predict that the history is going to repeat itself.
Highlighted Player (Mexer):
Edson Andre Sitoe “Mexer”, who was born in Maputo, Mozambique on September 8, 1988, began his senior career at Desportivo Maputo and he scored three goals in 97 appearances for the club. Mexer played for his home-town club from 2006 to 2010 and in the winter of 2010 he joined Portuguese side Sporting for a fee of €173,000.
