Our prediction for this match:
Saturday’s friendly at Orange Velodrome pits together Olympique Marseille and Villarreal, the two teams who meet for the first time since July 2018. Back then the two sides played out a 1-1 draw in a friendly, and yet another close encounter is on the horizon. OM have been performing well in pre-season, with the team beating all Martigues, Sete, Servette, and St Etienne, while sharing the spoils with Braga and Benfica.
New signings Luan Peres and Cengiz Under are both pushing for a start. The Yellow Submarine, on the other hand, are on a three-game winless run in pre-season. Since the La Liga side will go for a win in Saturday’s warm-up game as well, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. All Parejo, Trigueros, and Mario Gaspar should be recalled to Villarreal’s starting line-up.
