David faces Goliath at Bonifika stadium in Koper as Slovenia and Gibraltar go head to head in a warm-up game. Slovenia missed out on a place at EURO 2020, and, to make things even worse for the fans, they have been struggling in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers as well. Matjaz Kek will use upcoming friendlies to test as many players as possible, but regardless of who will be deployed in the starting XI, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise.
A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be Atalanta star Josip Ilicic, who is likely to make life difficult for the opposition defenders. Gibraltar, on the other hand, have already conceded 14 goals in the World Cup qualifiers, and it is no surprise the bookies see them as big underdogs in Friday’s friendly. Taking everything into account, the minnows are unlikely to spoil Slovenia’s party at Bonifika.

Born in Ljubljana, Slovenia on February 27, 1994, Andraz Sporar is a striker who plays for Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava. Sporar spent his youth career at the likes of Olimpija, MNK Ljubljana and Interblock and he continued playing for the last mentioned club at senior level.
After scoring 10 goals in 21 appearances for the club, the Slovenian attacker moved to his hometown club Olimpija Ljubljana where he earned the captaincy. Andraz Sporar was scoring goals for fun in the Slovenian top flight, netting 46 goals in 95 appearances in the league, but he then decided to take a step forward in his career.
In the 2015/2016 season he moved to Swiss outfit Basel, but he made no more than 19 appearances in the league for the RotBlau. During his spell with Basel Sporar played for Arminia Bielefeld on loan as well and in the winter of 2018 he joined Slovan Bratislava. Speaking of his international career, he made his debut with Slovenia in November 2016 against Malta.

Gibraltar played their first unofficial match against Jersey in the 1993 Island Games. The Gibraltarians suffered a 2-1 loss to Jersey, but they did well to hold Slovakia to a goalless draw in their first official international match. Gibraltar participated in the 2016 World Cup qualifiers and they were drawn in Group D alongside Germany, Poland, Georgia, Republic of Ireland and Scotland.
They failed to impress on their debut in the World Cup qualifiers and it has to be noted that the minnows suffered a loss in each of their ten group games (goal difference 2:56). Gibraltar recorded their first ever win against Malta on April 6, 2014 and that is considered the team’s biggest success.
Danny Higginbotham, who played for the likes of Manchester United, Southampton, Sunderland, Stoke City and Sheffield United during his professional career, has three caps for Gibraltar national football team and he is considered the greatest player who whore Gibraltar shirt.
