Netherlands and Scotland take on each other at Estadio Algarve in a pre-EURO friendly. The Oranje have big ambitions for the upcoming showpiece tournament, but football experts believe that injured defender Virgil van Dijk is going to be sorely missed. Feyenoord attacker Steven Berghuis has overcome his injury, while PSV striker Donyell Malen is pushing for a start. The Scotts, on the other hand, aim to build on a routine 4-0 win over Faroe Islands in the WC qualifiers.
Scott McTominay is undisputedly the team’s key player, but eyes will be on Liverpool full-back Andy Robertson as well. Memphis Depay is a Dutch winger who started his professional career at PSV Eindhoven. During the 2014/2015 Eredivisie campaign the pacey footballer was on Manchester United’s radar and on June 12, 2015 the Premier League club confirmed the signing of the Dutchman. Many people expected that he would impress in the 2015/2016 Premier League season, but the former PSV ace played below expectations for the Red Devils, scoring only two goals (one assist) during the season.
After playing only for league games for Man Utd in the 2016/2017 season, Memphis Depay was sold to Olympique Lyon on January 20, 2017. Depay signed a four-and-a-half year deal with les Gones for a fee of around £16 million. The Dutch winger was producing fine performances for Lyon in the 2016/2017 season; he scored five goals for the club, while providing eight assists for his teammates.
Memphis Depay made his senior debut for Netherlands on October 15, 2013 in a 2-0 win over Turkey. Depay did well to win the 2011 European Championship with Netherlands U17 team.

Despite being part of United Kingdom Scotland participate in football competitions as an independent country. The Scots qualified for the 1950 FIFA World Cup finals, but the SFA eventually withdrew their entry as they were not British champions. Four years later Scotland national football team participated at the showpiece tournament in Switzerland, but they were eliminated in the group stages.
Scotland booked their place at the FIFA World Cup on eight occasions, but they have not played a match at the finals of the major tournament since 1998. On the other hand, the Scotts participated at both Euro 1992 and Euro 1996, but they failed to qualify for the knockout stages at the tournaments in Sweden and England respectively.
