Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Sporting CP will be looking to cement top position in the standings when they host Rio Ave at their Estadio Jose Alvalade on Matchday 14. The Lions are on a four-game winning run in the Primeira Liga, and seeing that they were beaten by Maritimo in midweek, they will be fully focused on the national championship in the remainder of the season.
Emanuel Ferro’s troops are eager to make amends for the defeat to Maritimo, and seeing that Rio Ave have been playing below expectations in the first half of the season, we are tempted to put our money on the league leaders. Mario Silva’s men sit in the 9th position in the standings ahead of the trip to Lisbon, with the team suffering a loss in each of their last three away games. Since Sporting are a real force to be reckoned with at home, Rio Ave are likely to return to Vila do Conde empty-handed.
