A place in the Dutch Cup quarter-finals will be at stake when Vitesse and Den Haag face each other at GelreDome. The Vitas are after their fourth consecutive win, and they are likely to go all guns blazing at Den Haag on Tuesday evening. Even though both Hernandez and Tronstad remain in the recovery room, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. Den Haag, on the other hand, suffered a dip in form, with the team losing each of their previous five league fixtures.
Ruud Brood’s troops failed to impress in back-to-back losses to Venlo and AZ Alkmaar, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Vitesse’s troops at GelreDome. Defender Peet Bijen remains in the recovery room ahead of the trip to Arnhem. When the two teams met in the Eredivisie in October 2020 Vitesse defeated Den Haag 2-0.
Highlighted Player (Riechedly Bazoer):
Despite playing for PSV during his youth career, Riechedly Bazoer made his Eredivisie debut with Ajax. The central midfielder who was born on 12 October, 1996 in Utrecht, scored his first goal for Ajax on 15 February, 2015 in a 4-2 victory over Twente.
Four days later he made his European debut with the Amsterdammers, taking part in a 1-0 win over Legia in the Europa League. Bazoer scored five goals in 29 league appearances for Ajax in the 2015/2016 season, but he failed to win the domestic trophy with Frank de Boer’s troops.
Speaking of his international career, Bazoer has two caps for Netherlands U21 team and he made his debut for the first team on 13 November, 2015 against Wales. It has to be noted that he came as a late substitute in the 3-2 victory over the Dragons. Back in 2012 the right-footed midfielder won the UEFA U17 European Championship with the Dutch national team.

Ado Den Haag is a professional Dutch club based in Hague, the seat of the Netherlands government. De Ooievaars (The Storks) welcome their rivals at Cars Jeans Stadion, which can hold up to 15,000 spectators. Founded back in February, 1905, Den Haag are well known for their yellow shirts with green stripes, while their away kit is mainly sky blue.
De Ooievaars were the dominant force in the Netherlands Football League Championship during the World War II, with the team winning two domestic trophies (1941/42, and 1942/43). Den Haag have two KNVB Cup titles as well as they won the Dutch Cup in both 1967/68 and 1974/75 seasons. Legendary Netherlands tactician Dick Advocaat played for Den Haag on two occasions.
He scored seven goals in 147 league appearances from 1966 to 1973, and he returned to the club in 1979. Ajax and Feyenoord are considered the club’s biggest rivals. The rivalry between the clubs has become big due to hooligan fights before and after matches.
