South Korea will look to recover from a 1-0 loss to Peru when they host El Salvador to Daejeon World Cup Stadium on Tuesday. The Koreans are eager to put an end to their four-match winless run and it seems as if they will not have a better chance than this to do so. Tottenham ace Heung-Min Son is pushing for a start after he was rested in Friday’s friendly, with Gent midfielder Hyun-Seok Hong eyeing a spot in the starting XI as well.
La Selecta, on the other hand, are on a five-game losing run in all competitions. Considering that El Salvador experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a heavy 6-0 loss to Japan on Thursday, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. To make things even worse for the away team, defender Ronald Gomez is banned for the match following his sending-off in the loss to the Samurai Blue.

Over the years Son Heung-Min has established himself as one of the best Asian footballers. Son is a Tottenham Hotspur first-team regular and he played a very important role in Mauro Pochettino’s team in the 2017/2018 Premier League campaign, scoring 12 goals, while making 37 appearances in the process.
The South Korean footballer, who is well known for his speed and a very powerful shot, was born in Chuncheo on 8 July 1992 and he began his youth career at FC Seoul. In 2008 he moved to Hamburger SV, but he made his senior debut for the Bundesliga club two years later. In 2013 he signed a deal with fellow German side Bayer Leverkusen and he scored 21 goals in 62 appearances in the Bundesliga for the BayArena outfit.
In 2015 he signed a five-year contract with Spurs for a fee of £22 million. Son Heung-min made his South Korea debut in a friendly against Syria in 2010.

El Salvador are a national football team that play their home games at Estadio Cuscatlan. La Azul y Blanco turned down an invitation from Brazil to take part in the 1950 World Cup finals, but in 1970 they made it to the finals of the showpiece tournament in Mexico 20 years later.
They participated at the 1982 World Cup finals as well, but they have yet to advance the first round of the finals competition. El Salvador hosted the first CONCACAF Championship, but they failed to win the trophy, with the team suffering a loss to Costa Rica in the title game. Speaking of the Central American and Carribean Games, la Selecta won the trophy on two occasions (1954, 2002) and in 1968 they booked their place at the Olympic Games in Mexico.
