Toyota Stadium will host Thursday’s friendly between Japan and El Salvador, the two teams who meet for the first time since June 2019. Back then Japan defeated El Salvador 2-0 and the Samurai Blue are seen to win this warm-up game as well. Both Endo and Ueda are pushing for a start after coming off the bench in a 2-1 loss to Colombia. Hajime Moriyasu should stick to the 4-4-2 formation.
La Selecta, on the other hand, are on a four-game losing run in all competitions and given their difficulties in front of goal, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. American tactician Hugo Perez is likely to use this friendly to test as many players as possible. Wataru Endo is a Japanese footballer who plays for Urawa Red Diamonds as a defender. Endo is a product of Shonan Bellmare youth academy and he continued playing for the club at senior level. After scoring 21 goals in 153 appearances (league) for the club the 178-cm tall centre-back moved to Urawa Red Diamonds in 2016 and he has been playing for the J1 League club ever since.
Endo won the AFC Champions League with Urawa in 2017 as the Reds defeated Al-Hilal in the final of the competition. The Japanese defender played 90 minutes in the victory over the Saudi Arabian side and the winning of the AFC Champions League trophy is considered the biggest success of his career.
Wataru Endo made his debut for Japan on August 2, 2015 in a 2-1 loss to Korea DPR at the EAFF E-1 Football Championship. In 2016 he was the AFC U-23 Championship trophy with the Samurai Blue. The Urawa Red Diamonds footballer was born in Totsuka-ku, Yokohama (Japan) on February 9, 1993.

El Salvador are a national football team that play their home games at Estadio Cuscatlan. La Azul y Blanco turned down an invitation from Brazil to take part in the 1950 World Cup finals, but in 1970 they made it to the finals of the showpiece tournament in Mexico 20 years later.
They participated at the 1982 World Cup finals as well, but they have yet to advance the first round of the finals competition. El Salvador hosted the first CONCACAF Championship, but they failed to win the trophy, with the team suffering a loss to Costa Rica in the title game.
