Our prediction for this match:
Cameroon and Uzbekistan face each other on Friday in what will be their first meeting on the international stage. The Indomitable Lions were producing fine displays at the Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year, with the team winning the bronze medal. Cameroon are now preparing for the upcoming World Cup finals, and, no doubt, head coach Rigobert Song will use Thursday’s friendly to test as many players as possible.
A man to watch in the home side will be captain Vincent Aboubakar, while Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is widely expected to make his Cameroon debut against Uzbekistan. The nominal visitors, on the other hand, are on a five-game winning run in all competitions, but the Indomitable Lions will pose a much bigger threat for Srecko Katanec’s men than their previous rivals. Cameroon defenders should have Roma attacker Eldor Shomurodov at bay.
Highlighted Player (Sardor Rashidov):
Sardor Rashidov is a right-footed attacker who was born in Jizzakh, Uzbekistan on June 14, 1991. Rashidov started his senior career at his home-town club Sogdiana Jizzakh, but he made no more than three appearances in the league for the club.
In 2009 Rashidov moved to fellow Uzbek side Bunyodkor and he played for the club from 2009 to 2015. In July 2015 the centre forward, who can be used as a winger as well, joined El Jaish of Qatar for a fee of $2.1 million. Sardor Rashidov scored 21 goals in 42 games for the Qatar Stars League club and then he decided to take one step forward in his career as he signed a deal with Al Jazira.
He made his Al Jazira debut in a 2-1 win over Ajman on September 15, 2017. Speaking of his international career, Rashidov impressed on his debut for Uzbekistan as he scored against Vietnam in the 2015 Asian Cup. The Al Jazira attacker has established himself as a first-team regular with Uzbekistan and he has been scoring goals for fun ever since he made his full international debut for the national team.
