Wigan
Rochdale play host to Wigan Athletic at their Spotland Stadium in what is expected to be a close League One game. The Dale proved their worth in a 3-3 draw with Crewe, with the team coming from three goals behind to share the spoils with the Railwaymen. The good news for the hosts is that Jake Beesley should recover in time to face the Latics. Wigan, on the other hand, have not been in action since December 29, when they recorded a thrilling 4-3 win over Burton.
The Latics are desperate to grab something from the relegation six-pointer, and seeing that Rochdale looked sharp in front of goal in the 3-3 draw with Crewe, a high-scoring affair is on the cards. It has to be noted that ten goals in total have been netted in the previous two meetings between the two teams.
Highlighted Player (Ryan McLaughlin):
Ryan McLaughlin is a Northern Ireland international who plays for Rochdale in the League One as a right-back. McLaughlin started his youth career at Glenavon back in 2009 and two years later he was spotted by Liverpool scouts, who persuaded him to join the Reds youth academy.
However, instead of playing for Liverpool at senior level, the Northern Ireland defender spent two seasons on loan at Barnsley and Aberdeen before moving to Oldham Athletic. After scoring three goals in 52 league appearances for the club, Ryan McLaughlin joined Rochdale in 2019 for an undisclosed fee.
McLaughlin made his League One debut with the Dale on January 26, 2019 in a 2-1 loss at Barnsley. Speaking of his international career, the pacey right-back made his Northern Ireland debut on May 31, 2014 in a friendly against Uruguay. It has to be noted that the Rochdale defender can be used as both left-back and right midfielder as well.

Wigan Athletic are one of the winners of the English FA Cup. The Latics won the prestigious trophy in 2013, with the team upsetting Manchester City in the title game.
