Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Globe Arena will host Saturday’s football game between Morecambe and Colchester United, the two teams who shared the spoils with Walsall and Cambridge United respectively in their last league matches. Derek Adams’ troops are eager to retain their spot in top seven, and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-minded approach against Colchester United. The U’s, on the other hand, are on a six-game winless run in the League Two.
Colchester shared the spoils with the likes of Cambridge United and Cheltenham Town in the previous two league fixtures, and they are surely capable of holding Morecambe to a draw at Globe Arena. In their last meeting at the venue the two teams played out a 1-1 draw, and we predict that the history is going to repeat itself. Keep in mind that under 2.5 goals have been netted in five of Colchester’s previous seven league matches.
Highlighted Player (A-Jay Leitch-Smith):
Born in Crewe, England on March 6, 1990, A-Jay Leitch-Smith is a professional footballer who plays for Morecambe as a forward. Leitch-Smith is a product of the Crewe Alexandra football academy, and it has to be noted that he made 103 appearances for the club’s first team.
After spending several seasons on loan at Halifax Town, Newcastle Town, IBV, and Curzon Ashton, the English footballer joined Yeovil Town on a permanent basis in the 2014/2015 season. A-Jay Leitch-smith played for the likes of Port Vale, Shrewsbury Town, and Dundee (loan) as well before moving to his current club Morecambe.
Leitch-Smith is a very intelligent and creative attacker with good technical abilities. His preferred foot is centre-forward, but he is used as both second striker and right winger as well. The English footballer, who wears the number 28 jersey at Morecambe, has a contract with the Shrimps until June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Colchester):
Founded in 1937, Colchester United are a professional football club that compete in the League Two, the English fourth tier. The U’s welcome their rivals at Colchester Community Stadium, the venue which has the capacity of 10,105 people.
Colchester United are well known for their blue kit, but white is the dominant colour of their away kit. The U’s have an official fans association known as the CUSA. Colchester supporters consider Wycombe Wanderers the club’s fiercest rivals, but the rivalries with Southend United and Ipswich Town are big as well. Colchester United did well to win the FA Trophy in the 1991/92 season, with the team clinching the Essex Senior Cup trophy in the 2009/10 season.
In December 1961 the U’s recorded their biggest win, with the team rolling over Bradford City 9-1 in the Fourth Division. Colchester United repeated the success 44 years later as they hammered Leamington 9-1 in the FA Cup round 1.
