Our prediction for this Serie A match:
Buoyed by a 2-0 win over Empoli, Lazio will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Frosinone in the Serie A round 18. The Biancocelesti quickly bounced back from a 2-0 loss to Inter, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence and a triumph over Frosinone will see them keep their Champions League hopes alive. Both Luis Alberto and Ciro Immobile are major doubts after the duo limped off with injuries in the last league match.
The Canarini, on the other hand, do not seem to be at their sharpest, with the team losing three of their last four league games. Frosinone have been struggling at the back of late and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Lazio’s party at Stadio Olimpico. Pol Lirola has joined has joined the likes of Luca Mazzitelli, Jesus Carvalho, Riccardo Marchizza, and Sergio Kalaj in the recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Manuel Lazzari):
Born in Valdagno, Italy on November 29, 1993, Manuel Lazzari is a midfielder who plays for Serie A side SPAL. Lazzari played for the youth teams of Montecchio Maggiore at the start of his football career and in 2011 he moved to Delta Rovigo.
After spending the 2011/2012 season at the club, Manuel Lazzarri joined Giacomense in the summer of 2012 and it has to be noted that he made 24 appearances in the league for the club. At the end of the 2012/2013 season the 174-cm-tall footballer moved to SPAL and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular at the club.
Manuel Lazzari had seven assists in 39 appearances for SPAL in the 2016/2017 Serie B campaign and, no doubt, he helped the club secure promotion to the Italian elite division. His main position is right midfield, but he can play as both right-back and right winger if needed. Manuel Lazzari’s contract with SPAL should expire on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Frosinone):
Back in 1912 Frosinone were founded as Unione Sportiva Frusinate and it has to be noted that the colors of the team were originally red and blue. They were later changed to the current yellow and blue and the Canarini have been wearing those kits ever since. Frosinone made their first ever appearance in the Serie A in the 2015/2016 season, but they failed to secure the promotion.
The Canarini finished the season in 19th place in the standings, eight points behind Udinese, who eventually avoided relegation to Serie B. However, two years later Frosinone returned to the Italian top flight as they defeated Palermo 3-2 on aggregate in the play-offs final.
The club play their home games at Stadio Benito Stirpe, the stadium that was opened in 2017. The venue can hold 16,227 spectators and it is owned by the Municipality of Frosinone. The construction cost €20 million.
