Stade Pierre-Mauroy will host Tuesday’s friendly between France and Scotland, the two teams who meet for the first time since June 2016. Les Tricolores aim to build on a 2-1 win over Netherlands and the bookies see them as hot favourites to beat the Scotts in front of home fans. PSG striker Kylian Mbappe is likely to be rested after scoring a brace against the Oranje, with both Olivier Giroud and Marcus Thuram pushing for a start.
The visitors, on the other hand, did well to qualify for the Euro 2026 finals despite suffering a 2-0 loss in Spain. As Andy Robertson has joined the likes of Ryan Jack, Kieran Tierney, and Kevin Nisbet in the recovery room, home win should be considered. Nathan Paterson is widely expected to replace Robertson in the starting XI, with Southampton forward Che Adams pushing for a start as well.

Speaking of his international career, Mbappe played an important role for France at the 2018 FIFA World Cup finals, with the pacey rising star scoring a brace in a thrilling 4-3 win over Argentina in the last 16 of the showpiece tournament. The PSG attacker was born in Paris on December 20, 1998.

Despite being part of United Kingdom Scotland participate in football competitions as an independent country. The Scots qualified for the 1950 FIFA World Cup finals, but the SFA eventually withdrew their entry as they were not British champions. Scotland booked their place at the FIFA World Cup on eight occasions, but they have not played a match at the finals of the major tournament since 1998.
